Teaching

 

Since graduating, I have offered guitar tuition for beginner through to advanced guitarists. My approach differs with each pupil, but I always use a series of exercises and supporting material to keep things moving successfully. I can teach a wide range of styles, including acoustic guitar songs; rock, pop and blues on electric guitar and advanced jazz theory.

 

For beginner guitarists I can give you a quick start in getting playing songs as soon as possible and only add the musical theory and technical matters when strictly necessary. We can work towards a goal: a song you'd like to learn, or a style you'd like to play.

 

For intermediate guitarists I can work on firming-up the techniques behind successfully playing the songs or styles you're into. Bringing in elements of theory or exercises where appropriate I can make sure you progress to the tricky stuff knowing what it is you're doing!

 

For advanced guitarists I can provide extra challenges or new concepts to investigate: modal theory, rhythmic devices, new chord voicings and so on.
